LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear CATT Members,

As I go into my final month as the two-term president of CATT I want to try to answer the most frequently asked question I’ve received over my term: Why should I join CATT?

There isn’t one right answer. I’ve oscillated between selling the advertising benefits, the camaraderie at the events, or even the community service aspect. But, without a doubt, the primary reason to join CATT is to be part of solving the collective action problem that is the over-regulation and taxation of our industry.

Our member dues and donations help aid the lobbying efforts that are so desperately needed to effect change in the myriad agencies that our industry works with. CATT serves as the only form of checks and balances when elected officials and sitting boards decide to raise fees or dictate our building process. CATT is the guardian of the building industry. To that end, when someone asks me why CATT? The answer is: it’s in your best interest.

The next time someone asks about joining CATT, or you’re thinking about the utility of your membership dues please remember that we are all in this together and all together we are CATT.

Sincerely,

Brian McEneaney, McEneaney Construction
CATT President
Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe
